On trail after the RG
... and after getting a head start, Bird Blue executes a fly by AND he's still on the long ... whoa!
On trail April 11th
... at the regroup and Bird Blue is psyched up as he's actually running all the longs and has been enraged to see the dreaded fish hook en routey - blissfully unaware that retribution will Shirley follow as Wide Receiver and Strongbow are packing the Checkin' Chicken hat AND the Hashit Shirt ... me and my big mouth - sigh
CIRCLE COMMENCERIDO ...
... from the Highweek Inn car park ... quite an epic with all the notices and Forrest's question and answer delivery ... special thanks to Forrest who stepped in at short notice to lay the trail ... and it was a 'little' epic as I can testify after running ALL the longs and staying on my feet for 70 minutes - BRAVO FORREST!
Monday 11 April 2011
Wednesday 6 April 2011
It's time for the 'Technical'
... and there's a veritable queue of contestants ... there's a slight snag ... Poacher's up front with the bag of flour putting down the trail 'live' but that's not the problem ... I've got to call out which forks to take on the very narrow badger trail ...
On trail from the Thatched Tavern

Badger poo proves it's a Badger Highway

TVH3 Special Award
Archangel presents Trevor of the Lord Nelson with two hash shirts in recognition of the tremendous hospitality he has shown to Teign Valley (and also Kingskerswell H3) over the years. Trevor is leaving at the end of April and we all wish him well. However, I think TVH3 may be seeing Trevor one more time before then ...

Wednesday 9 March 2011
UFO
Fukarwi had started us looking for the Space Station and suddenly we see a satellite moving at admittedly a low trajectory but what is puzzling is that another light is seen moving in tandem with it. The cam cannot focus on the pair of moving lights so there's only the babble (mainly Bluebird) to listen to ... but what is Shirley beyond doubt that this is a genuine 'UFO' ... if you cannot identify an object in the sky, it must, by definition be an unidentified flying object ... so there, teddy bear.

AWARDS NIGHT: DAVE BICK STYLE

AWARDS NIGHT: PILLOCK OF THE YEAR

Thursday 3 March 2011
Special Award
A real surprise ... an award for me! Thanks for moving the cam down Mouldy and thanks to Rambo for putting it back into position for the downdown.
AWARDS NIGHT: HASHER OF THE YEAR

AWARDS NIGHT: BEST HASH 2010
... and finally, after years of near misses and disappointments, Bobby triumphs with a true spectacular ... The Ship Inn at Kingswear - a first visit for TVH3 - Ferry (lower) across to Dartmouth - hash in upper reaches of Dartmouth woods (virgin ground) - bourbon stop at a spectacular viewpoint above the estuary - pub stop at the Cherub Inn (one of the oldest pubs in England) - port and cheese stop before embarking aboard the higher ferry back to Kingswear - free cheesy chips all round and splendid hospitality from the Ship Inn (Camra winner) ... No? Well please yourselves then ...
DOWNDOWNS FROM THE UNION INN
... and you might just get an inkling that it's warming up nicely for the impending Awards ... Bird Blue - true to form - is on a mission tonight: A Good Old Boy Real Ale Swigger, he intends to swig the Magnificent Seven and even gaily go galivanting for the Gorgeous Gallon ... He's on the Famous Five as this clip unfolds ... sigh of admiration ...
Wednesday 23 February 2011
DOWNDOWNS FROM THE DARTMOUTH INN PART 4
... finally and inevitably, Wigwam is summoned for his Big Birthday Downdown - he's put in a lot of hard work for his hash and we thank him, one and all. Rent Boy had earlier said that he thought he might be due a badge soon and you know what Wally? He was spot on - 200 Badge upcoming my son!
DOWNDOWNS FROM THE DARTMOUTH INN PART 3
... Fukarwi stays on stage to award and it's a case of the 'blame game' and then a 'fishy' story, resulting in Honeydew being put in the frame ...
DOWNDOWNS FROM THE DARTMOUTH INN PART 2
Satnav's turn to award and it's for Fukarwi - chasing a jogger who he allegedly thought was a hasher ... sigh
DOWNDOWNS FROM THE DARTMOUTH INN PART 1
... and first up to the oche is #69 to award - and the 'lucky/luckless' recipient is Fallen Woman ...
Tuesday 22 February 2011

DOWNDOWNS PART 3
... and Rent Boy summons Satnav for the heinous crime of answering her mobile whilst on trail ...
DOWNDOWNS PART 2
... and Wide Receiver awards Fukarwi the Checkin' Chicken Hat for doing the splits ... sigh
DOWNDOWNS PART 1
... comme d'habitude, we thank the bar for not only four pints but a goodly feast to follow shortly as well. Number 2 gaily attired in pink steps up to award #69 - for an altercation on the dance floor ... ?
INSIDE THE KINGS ARMS
... and we're in the safe hands of a really hash-friendly landlord - as bashers will enthusiastically testify ... Shirley

... and there's time for a photo op before the little lost party continues to who knows where ...
Tuesday 8 February 2011
Saga time out on the trail
Are you ready? I'm going to tell you a stawry ... the Madder than the Maddest Hatter at a Mad Hatters Convention is remarkably still on the trail and subjecting all within earshot (his voice carries remarkably - unfortunately) to his favourite ditties: 'On Top of My Sweetheart', 'On the Trail of the Lonesome Pine' etc etc) ... but I digress .. Mad Hatter and Bobby enter a field and come across Number 2, Pongo (the dog you fools) and Wetfart searching for clues ... sigh. Tiring of the game, the fearless fivesome fan out and try to find an exito rapido tuxedo from the field of nightmares ... barbed wire beckons Bertie but ... now view the clip ...
'THERE'S A BAR OVER YOUR HEAD!'
... but I shoudda called that out BEFORE Doris hit her head on it and said a very rude word which I've had to edit out ... you can hear the chaos which ensues immediately after. My lost in the bamboos - so must be bamboozled - deserved more appreciation ... sigh
Monday 7 February 2011
By George, I think I've only done it ...
... got rid of the hated date/time stamp from the mini, mini car cam ... No? Well please yourselves then ... Never mind the height and width - look at the quality of the recording on a £13 camcorder!
Friday 4 February 2011
CAR CAM TEST (yes, I've got another cam)
... almost certainly the best value cam on the worldwide market ... full details to follow. Heavily compressed from original 352 kbps 720 X 480 AVI to WMV ... ignore the date stamp below as I hadn't changed the Micro card's TAG.TXT file. Cam shooting footage through glass inside my shed.
Tuesday 1 February 2011
Finlake - all the downdowns
... prior to thanking the bar for permission to BUY the downdowns even though Wide Receiver had asked. All hares please note: Ensure you make it clear to the management that three pints will be donated for DD's in exchange for 40-50 thirsty hashers descending on them on a dead Monday evening - there are plenty of pubs who would kill for the offer ... shame on you Finlake.
Wednesday 26 January 2011
TITI NAMING
... As good as my word TiTi - here's the naming clip from last year's Fire Hash from the Thatched Tavern at Maidencombe on November 29th. And an interesting point, about 80% of clips taken do not get posted - remaining in the secure archive vault at Cruisedog Towers. If you want a particular clip posted, you only have to ask ...
Tuesday 25 January 2011
DOWNDOWNS FROM THE DARTMOUTH INN
... no messing about - ALL DD'S in one hit ... take it away Teapot please ...
On The Trail of The Lonesome Pine?
... confusion (as usual) reigneth as hashers search for clues on U Bend's fiendish trail ...
Fascinating little shops in Totnes
... I've got half an hour to spare before the hash from the Dartmouth Inn down on the Plains at Totnes so a quick look round this very ancient town dating back to the 11th century and which is the second oldest borough in England. A special affection for me as I grew up here ...

Pork Torpedo flies again

Soapy's Red Dress Extravaganza (2)

'Play ball and pay Ball'
... so sayeth the Great Hash God Pottsie - (Bobbiball is the Hash Cash you fools) plus Soapy informs us about next week's hash.
Tuesday 11 January 2011
Downdowns from the Church House Inn continue
... and Bird Blue is next up to award the Hashit Shirt - giving the camcorder and light to Mavis. Unfortunately, the combination of temperature change and consequent misting up of the lens destroy the closing stages of the clip - Mavis's attempts at zooming in (at a critical stage) further confuse the auto focus - already struggling to cope with the low light conditions ... with me so far? I thought not ... well, watch anyway ...
Inside the Church House Inn
... and hare and bar are thanked before #69 makes the first award to Doris - but as most people know, Doris has only two tipples: Guinness OR whisky - expensive tastes!
TINY TENT CIRCLE
... huddling together under a canopy, the brave hashers await their marching orders from Magnificent Mavis ...
Friday 7 January 2011
DOWNDOWNS AND A NAMING FROM THE WOLBOROUGH INN JAN 3
... and a lengthy clip (that's why it's uploaded onto youtube, even compressed it's still 57 MB) ... there's been a steward's enquiry and the culprit of the 'Fiasco Hash' has been found. To add to a catalogue of misdemeanours, The Supreme One is wearing new shoes (actually, they aren't, been worn for 3 months so all present need to go to Specsavers) and the ritual is that the downdown be drunk from one of the shoes, BUT instead of beer (which I was looking forward to) an evil concoction is brought from behind the bar and poured into the shoe. However, the Greatest Pillock of all time has a trick up his sleeve and promptly pours it straight into his waterproof camera bag ... HA!
A real real ale waste of a pint ensues - I could have drunk that Teapot!
High jinks end the evening as Rearender's son is named - and it's a bawdy naming so you'll have to listen carefully to hear what it is - as I'm not going to print it!
Tuesday 4 January 2011
Circle briefing
... by Winfield who explains the somewhat dubious plan - yes, it's quite complicated ... Strongbow is out somewhere in the hills above Newton Abbot preparing the trail for the longs while Winfield will take the shorts directly to the woods and commence live-laying ... he will run out of laying medium eventually and will have to rely on a link-up with Strongbow to get more 'ammo' ... with me so far ... I thought not ... sigh
CIRCLE COMMENCERIDO
... from the Wolborough Street Car Park and Strongbow who is live-laying the long trail leaves in advance of the circle trivia - but the Vice President KC is so eager for action that he bolts in pursuit and has to be called back by the Grand Master ...
