... well here's the owner and ... don't you love the look on one of her (many) admirer's face on the left?

Summer Lightning is recommended ...
... dudes and dudesses ... from the Hop Back Brewery, Wiltshire 5.0 abv I have thoroughly and extensively road tested this summer pale ale style real ale for you tonight at one of Winfield's lavish junkets along the way, by the way and in the way ... I wasn't at all sure Shirley, after a pint, and still had lingering doubts after a second, Stanley, by the third - I was nearly convinced, and after the fourth - I was converted - hallelujah - raise your hands - oh lordy ... and then, all too soon - the meeting was adjourned, convened - ended even ... and Winfield led me away ... but the lingering after taste - did just that ... I can now - thoroughly recommend, endorse and even give the thumbs up to this unassuming little Wiltshire offering ...
So let it be formatted ...
... so let it be done ... the 'welcome' audio is now programmed to run ONCE and then cease, desist ... stop even. We have the technology, we have the capability of making a Blogger audio semi-embed voiceover ... the implications are indeed horrifying to consider ... NOW important (or frivolous) info can reinforce the written word - so there is no longer any hiding place for you Fukarwi ... you WILL be directed to forthcoming hash venues with no chance of excuses on the Noticeboard ... (contented sigh) ...
It's a triumph over mind and matter ...
... I don't mind and you don't matter ... no, this is indeed a minor triumph ... a quest for the blogging 'Holy Grail' - how to embed your own audio welcome message onto your blog. If it's a music file and you care to risk copyright infringement, it's 'fairly' straightforward, but if you want to embed your own audio via PC mike, it's not quite so easy, or so I've discovered - during breaks in horse-races and other sports betting.
Various formulae from blogging anoraks have borne no fruit, yet still I searched ... I could post the audio but not on autoplay and audio storage sites refused to release simple HTML code to post within an embedded player. But in the very early hours of this morning (4.15 am) I finally achieved my goal, to undoubted howls of rage from some quarters.
The 'welcome' message is on a repeating loop and is 'semi-embedded' which means it can be turned off ... instructions on how to do this will follow shortly (you will need them to be able to play videos) ... the dustcart has just gone past (7.40 am) and I'll have a quick couple of hours shuteye AND then I'll be back to release you from your ordeal ...

And here's Melon Picker in classic ...
... 'Posing position A' at the bar ... this is the pattern for a cardboard cut-out we could use when he's not at a hash ... but wait a minute, I think that it IS a cardboard cut-out standing there!
Smugglers Oct 20: They've dun us proud with tray ...
... after tray - platter after platter of roast spuds ... there's only one snag Sally, there's only 30 of us tonight ... sigh
Little Haldon Oct 20: Straight from the horse's mouth ... video
Pay attention! We'll be asking questions later ...
Despite the weather ...
... they look keen ... Andy (second left) is 'equipped' well for his virgin hash - undoubtedly been given some pointers by oppo Cinderfella (left)
Inside Little Haldon CP and ...
... that is not my number plate on the ground in front of Cinderfella ... it's a strange reflection ... nearly as strange as me hitting the entrance with a hell of a bang - prompting Bubbles to run over to see if I was a 'write-off' .... !

Soapy sees Palmolive in and er, well ...
... has a little tale of woe to relate as soon as she has parked ... and well, er, so do I to Cruisedog when I get back ...
Little Haldon: Well, er yes, it's bl**dy tight ...
... getting in 'ere 'Arry as there are two ruddy great boulders astride the entrance (roaming travellers deterrent) and er well, two of us had a bit of an accident getting in safely ...
The site will settle down later ...
... because I've found more tech stuff to amuse myself with (I'm easily amused, as you must have noticed, Norris) ... most of the changes are test versions (as I'm not sure how they work, Walter) but eventually, we will get wherever we want to be eventually going (I swear this typewriter works by itself) .... see you tonight - bring wet weather gear ...
