I'm going to tell you a sto-o-o-ry....

...about my latest acquisition from Lidl. Late on Thursday night I was roaming the aisles of my local Lidl. My first stop was the 75% off area....the scene of many a bargain...clock radios for £1.29, running shoes also for £1.29 (I have ten pairs for £12.90 !) etc etc.... I blinked, for there in front of me was a micro sound system (pictured above) for the princely sum of £4.99 ! There were eight of them at the time. Thinking to myself: "That's 'andy 'Arry, pop it in the chariot"....I did just that and trundled my merry way.

At the checkout a few minutes later, there was a lady with 3 of the same sound systems in her trolley and in another checkout opposite me was another lady with about a dozen rucksacks (more £1.29 specials) in her trolley. Turned out they were both Lidl employees and were availing themseves bigtime of the bargains, which I suppose explains why you lot out there rarely (if ever) see these little gems.

Postscript: Got the system home and it's bloody good, Gertrude....good sound, FM and MW radio, remote control and go to sleep with music function....I know what you're thinking.....Why oh why didn't I get some for you lot........sorry about that, maybe next time....
