SCENT OF LIFE - BREAKOUT

Left: as found April 21 2012. Right: Today tiny sprouts emerging from the narrow aperture.

Found in the woods close to where I live in Maidencombe, Devon, United Kingdom, an old scent or cologne bottle with a drop aperture. Think how many years it would have taken for the tiny amounts of soil to percolate inside the bottle - ultimately providing a miniature encapsulated ecosystem for life to sprout. A tiny miracle of the persistence of nature to succeed ... See video in right hand side panel.
